My all time favorite activity in Uganda is tending to our small garden at the Ngobi House. TQ jokes that I am too much of a hippie for loving my garden so much. I like getting my hands dirty picking weeds, having a sweat going with the hoe and shovel, and eating from the garden I work so hard to keep.
And now that the rainy season is here, the plants are all growing fast and bearing fruit even faster than when I first arrived in Uganda. Watching the plants grow and harvesting fresh veggies reminds me of living in Fiji, plus the food is free and healthy.
Right now, we are growing hot peppers, sweet peppers, banana, pumpkin, jack fruit, mango, papaya, 4 types of lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, onion, Irish potatoes, eggplant, carrot, and broccoli.
